I give this kit 5 stars for the quality and its' purpose. You will not be satisfied. Cute and fun and just for her. But don't expect it to work like a Dewalt hammer drill. 1. FOUR MONTHS LATER: I've been using my tool kit quite often.
I use the box cutter all the time because I'm constanly cutting up boxes from Amazon orders. This would make a great gift for some of my girlfriends. I worry about using this hammer on any heavy project. 3. But I still say it's a must have for women who do SMALL jobs around the house.
This kit is definately just for small stuff around the house which is a necessity. 4. You do the math. I also hung up picture, ect. Cordless drill: I wish it had a bit more torque. I can't count the numerous times when I wanted a light drill to assemble a desk, or shelf and I had to use a rusty old screw driver that hurt my hand. When I try to cut boxes with this thing, the blade rides back up into the plastic casing. Not very useful :(.
They should have raised the quality. The bits are good. It also comes with a box of extra screws nails, ect. There is a label on the hammer that reads, "This tool can be made to chip if struck against a hardened nail.". Dewalt has some nice light weight tools. What works great: measuring tape, leveler, percision screwdrivers and scissors. I only paided 29.99, now they raised the price to 39.99.
5. The little screw drivers came in handy too to replace the batteries on my car remote control. It's only 4.8 volts with little torque. I order A LOT from Amazon and I need a good box cutter to cut up the boxes for recycling and this one sucks. Box cutter: can get annoying.
I used the drill to screw a nail in the wall to hang a picture and it did the job well, and it's light weight (great for over head positions). I haven't used everything, but I'll tell about what I have used. Have not used yet: wrench, pliers, tape and putty knife. I mainly bought it for the pink drill, hammer, box cutter, scissors, wrench.well just about everything.
But it can do light jobs. I love my new tool kit. If you are a woman in construction, or a SERIOUS do it yourselfer, this is NOT the kit for you. 2.
Again, I still love this kit, but they should have made a better pink hammer and drill. One of the many tasks I did was assemble a stand for my mother's new digital tv.
Of course, at this price, the tools are not the greatest, but the novelty of having everything in one spot and in HOT PINK is great. :) Definitely not for someone planning major renovations. This would be a perfect 1st time gift for kids going to college who may need a few tools every once in a while.
I ordered this b/c I just moved into my first apartment. The actual tools are of great quality and well worth the money. When I went to open the tool box, the pink latch broke completely off.that is the only reason I gave this a 4.
I wanted to give her a house warming gift that she would enjoy and use. She was very excited and said it had a lot of the tools she did not have. My son and future daughter in law just purchased a new home that needed a lot of work. PS.my son has used it also. Since she would be helping with a lot of the repairs, I thought this pink tool kit would be perfect.
