So, stock up everyone - you'll really hate those automatic trimmers. We are extremely pleased with our Black and Decker 12-inch electric bump feed string trimmer and edger. We had purchased one of the new automatic feed trimmers in the spring from Wal-Mart and it just feeds through string like mad. We couldn't find any of the bump styles in Wal-Mart, Lowe's or Home Depot, but thanks to Amazon, we were able to purchase a new bump trimmer. It was a disaster.

Decided to do my own lawn work so I bought this , an electric mower and other stuff, it wasn't too hard to set up,the first time I used it, it was great, the next time I used it, it started off well then I smelt burning,smoke came out of the casing and I decided I'd better quit before it exploded or something. I called amazon and they promised a refund. I wish the instructions were clearer too, like what do you do with the lengthening spool, trim it off. I heard B&D were good, so I am hoping this is just a one-off.
Great product, works wonderful for small yards , and you don't have to pay for gas to use it. I have never been unhappy with a Black & Decker It is pretty heavy after 10 min (my arms got tried after a while),but it does get the job done and at an excellent price. Just make sure you have a long extention cord.
