Black & Decker 18-Volt Cordless Electric Broom Hard Surface Sweeper #NS118 Reviews
I am really happy with it. They are just too heavy for me nowadays. I would very much recommend it to anyone who has leaves. I have a lot of leaves every fall and needed something other than a gas blower. So I bought the Cordless Electric Broom from Black and Decker. I also just bought another one for my 84 year old neighbor as his gas blower was just too heavy for him too. What a great job it does even if they are wet on the driveway.
They do include two batteries, so one can be charging while the other's in use, but it takes several hours to fully charge one, and (in my case) only 30 minutes to deplete two of them. There's a red light, but I don't know if that means the battery is charged, or just charging. My only gripe is about battery life.blows pretty good for about 15 minutes, then gradually weakens. I really wanted to like this thing, and I do, except that its batteries don't last all that long. It's very possible it's more a charger problem, because there isn't a good indicator of whether the battery that's on there is completely charged. I guess I'd still recommend it, but only after warning you of the battery issues. Haven't found a better system, but wish this one was a little better. The sweeper does a good job, especially on hard surfaces (duh.maybe that's why they call it that), but does pretty well on grass when blowing leaves.
It works best on driveways and sidewalks. Black & Decker has made a good cordless leaf and light debris blower. The battery lasts about 15 minutes if charged a full 9 hours, which is just enough for my outdoor needs. The product arrived promptly and in good shape. The blower is light and easy to handle, with enough power for small quantities of tree material.
I just hope these batteries last better than the older version ones as they say these can stay pugged in to keep their power without affecting performance. I have a corded model that works well, but, as we all know the power cord is real pain. Ted Had already bought the newer 18v cordless B&D weed trimmer (had an older model with lesser voltage battery and much bigger battery) and it works great, so thought I'd try the cordless blower. Cordless blower very powerful for what I need it for - blowing leaves and grass around the yard to corral for lawnmower pick-up. Even with the potential for battery issues (just make sure you've always got a fresh one or two) I highly recommend both B&D pieces and may now look to buy the cordless hedge trimmer. Having the extra 18v from the weed trimmer helps as the blower seems to use the battery power quicker than the weed trimmer.
