Black & Decker Edge Hog 2-1/4 HP Electric Landscape Edger #LE750

You'll get great results with this Black & Decker heavy-duty Edge Hog landscape edger, one of the easiest-to-use pieces of equipment we've come across. You'll be thrilled with how quickly you can get to work, as assembly takes only a few minutes. This is an electric model, so you'll need an extension cord and an electric outlet handy, but you won't have to deal with gas or oil. And it's so quiet you can edge at any time of day--even early Saturday mornings--without worrying about waking up the neighbors.

We found the Edge Hog has plenty of power in its 2-1/4-horsepower motor for both edging and trenching, and it's easy to switch from one to the other by simply raising or lowering the edge guide. The edger weighs only 12 pounds, which allows for easy transportation and great maneuverability around curved paths, but makes it more difficult to maintain a straight line when you're tackling a lawn that hasn't been edged in a while. If you're digging out quite a bit of dirt along with the edge you're creating, it takes some effort to keep the unit stable.

Undoing a screw toward the front of the edger and raising or lowering its leading wheel easily adjusts the depth of the edge groove you're making along with your edge. The unit can also be adjusted to fit the height of the user more comfortably by changing the angle on the guide handle. The blade requires only a pull of the trigger to start instantly and, unlike many gas models, stops as soon as the trigger is released---an important safety feature.

Black & Decker Edge Hog 2-1/4 HP Electric Landscape Edger #LE750 Reviews

I am very pleased with it, all around. The Edge Hog does everything your product description promised.and does such a good job.

So now I'm stooping and applying a force perpendicular to the direction I'm going. -The edge guide does not follow the concrete. -Well powered. -I'm 6'2" and have to stoop to use it. -Simple and effective cord retainer. You have to use the left hand handle to pull the edger to the side so it stays in a straight line.

-I've been hanging it by the handle in my garage and the plastic is cracking under it's own weight. The bad:. Let's start off with the good:. -Easy assembly. -If the edge guide happens to follow the concrete, the blade is spaced so far from it, that it doesn't catch everything and you have to go back and forth over it until you randomly get it.

It's made for someone about 5'10" max.

I am amazed how well this little machine can cut through the toughest overgrowth (6") on my driveway. Just make sure you buy plenty of electric cord. I was looking at gas edgers, and am so glad I bought this model. I had no problem handling it.

Easy to assemble and sturdy enough to do the job. Used a weed eater instead to try to edge. This edger works great and is inexpensive. It took awhile to initially edge since we were cutting so much grass but it was well worth it. First we found out that we had lost about 6 inches of driveway because of overgrown grass and second we realized we could not get as clean an edge as we did with this edger. We had not edged for a while because we didn't have an edger.
