Bosch 5412L 12-Inch Dual Bevel Slide Miter Saw with Laser Tracking

The Robert Bosch Tool Corporation enjoys a well-earned reputation for producing high-quality, well-engineered power tools. And we're glad to report that the new Bosch 5412L 12-inch dual-bevel sliding compound miter saw is no exception. This remarkable tool combines unrivaled speed and power with impressive cutting capabilities. It?s also loaded with several innovative, user-friendly features, such as a laser that indicates exactly where the blade will cut. So, whether you?re a professional contractor or a serious do-it-yourselfer, the 5412L will handle virtually any cut, including square crosscuts, miter cuts, bevel cuts and compound angle cuts. In fact, the only type of cut this saw can?t make is a rip cut, but that?s true of any power miter saw.

The saw?s large 12-inch blade, powerful 3-horsepower motor and dual slide rail permits crosscutting boards up to 4-1/2 inches thick by 12 inches long. When set for a 45-degree miter-cut, it?ll cut up to 4 inches thick by 8-1/2 inches long. At a 45-degree bevel, the saw?s capacity is 2-3/4 inches by 12 inches. And when you set both the miter and bevel angles for a compound cut, the saw will cut up to 2-3/4 inches by 8-1/2 inches. This is the ideal tool for installing crown molding. It?ll cut crown up to 12 inches wide when the molding is laid flat on the worktable, and up to 6 inches wide when it?s held at an angle against the saw fence.

The 5412L also features convenient up-front adjustments of all bevel and miter settings, a four-position handle, work hold-down clamps, two sliding fences, dust-collection bag, and built-in sliding extensions that support boards up to 40 inches long. The motor is equipped with an electric brake that stops the blade within a split second of releasing the trigger. At 59 pounds, this isn?t the most portable miter saw on the market, but that small drawback is more than compensated by this tool?s superior performance and innovative features. -- Joseph Truini

Bosch 5412L 12-Inch Dual Bevel Slide Miter Saw with Laser Tracking Reviews

With the stock blade I give it 3 stars. No tearout whatsoever, and cuts like butter. Love this saw, BUT, you need to buy the Forrest 12" miter blade to go with it to make it 5 stars. Much more enjoyable to use than my old Bosch 10" slider, because of the variable handle orientation, better mechanism for the safety cover, and all bevel controls up front. The Forrest blades are that good.

I've had this saw for about two years and it has been an amazing performer for my own home-improvement projects. The top performance of this unit encouraged me to purchase other Bosch tools, all of which have been great. I have enjoyed the precision engineering and accuracy designed into this piece of equipment.

I am not a contractor. It makes your job so much easier and nicer when you have good tools.

It is the best miter saw I have ever owned. A great price and what a saw.

yes WOW. I love this saw.

This is a good one. Just a guy that does a lot of woodworking.

I would buy it again in a heartbeat.

PS: I have heard some complain about long term issues with accuracy.I have had no issues.but I clean my saw at the end of each day with an air hose and tighten and check my settings before each cut. I have a Dewalt 12 inch dual and wanted a table with slide capability. slide- smooth, straight, sturdy. the bevel- I have to say the weight distribution is high and this can make setting the bevel akward.

fence- love it.height, the hold down that come with it (dewalt makes you buy them). The dewalts are a bit easier to set in this reguard. I love this saw.and will save you from reviewing all its features but do wish to highlight the great.and the annoying. Highlights:. I wanted a saw that would hold up wel to job site work but still be able to handle finish crown.

I believe that any issues have to go back to how you set up, handle, transport, and maintain your saw. the laser- is annoying as it is onesided.I prefer line lasers that cover the material removed (but this is personal) the laser is acurate and the batteries last 3 months or so with daily use. BOTTOM LINE: I could have bought any saw and I bought this one. We do framing to finish. Handle swivel (I don't love or need it but my help likes it). I've used all of them so I bought it knowing what I was getting.and I use this one every day.

And the smooth, straight, accurate cuts, fantastic fence, included laser, handle setup, table size, and hold downs more than make up for them. It does have flaws.but they are minor and adaptable. front table handle- love the size, location, and easy adjustments. First off about me.I renovate victorians for a living.

I am not brand loyal but rather look for a saw with the features I need and like. The side exstensions- work well for light material but overloaded by framing.we use a mobile table so its not an issue for us but I have heard others that table set this complain so. OK so the BAD:.

Zero stars is more appropriate: I did not receive the Bosch 5412L 12" Sliding Compound Miter saw because the seller claimed that Amazon agreed to a standard delivery cost but after the sale changed shipping cost from $43 to $150+
