DEWALT DW745 Heavy Duty 10-Inch Compact Job Site Table Saw with 16-Inch Max Rip Capacity Reviews

The miter attachment is cheap so I used one from my old sears band saw. I own a large cabinet saw but it was too large and was still at my old residence. I might get rid of my old Delta cabinet saw and just use this one. As I was finishing off the lower level of my new house I needed a saw that was compact, easy to assemble, and of a high quality. This product filled the bill. I did some research on a compact saw before I purchased this one and I am pleased with what I have. I especially like the fence which always stays parrallel to the blade.

At 58 picking the saw and stand up easily with the built in handles is a huge plus. It's small true but it's a GREAT portable saw for nearly anything you need to do around the house. Sometimes the outlet plugs up but that's my only nitpick. Both are great saws but what I want to pass along here is how good I feel about my purchase every time I pick it up and carry it back into the basement. I rip treated lumber with it no problem. I LIKE IT. NICE. I got the stand and it's plenty sturdy.

I have found that the Dewalt DW745 has met all of those conditions and has exceeded my expectations. I needed a lightweight saw so that I could easily move it around and set it up by myself with minimal effort. The DW745 fence locks down with a simple lever, yet another nice feature. . It is a very handy accessory, it too is lightweight and compact for storage. This saw is limited in work table surface and limited to a 16 inch rip capacity, it is not intended to be a replacement for a full size table saw or cabinet saw :-) . I have owned the saw for 8 months now and have used it on numerous remodeling projects and am still very pleased with this saw.

I would also recommend the DEWALT DW7450 Table Saw Stand for use with this saw. In the past, with other table saws, I have always struggled with keeping up with the blade wrenches, especially for a portable saw. I really like the rack and pinion fence system, this is very easy to use and very convenient opposed to the traditional screw post fence. I needed a small table saw for home remodeling that could easily be stored and take a minimal amount of storage space. I wanted a fairly inexpensive saw that had a quality easy to use fence. Please note that this is a lightweight portable saw so my review is based on what I would consider lightweight home remodeling, lightweight construction, and do-it-yourself-ers.

Perhaps one of the more overlooked features that I find extremely important is that the DW745 contains storage compartments for the accessory saw tools such as the blade wrenches and push stick.

When I got the saw, the fence was perfectly parallel with the blade. Including this one. The fence meter was off by only one milimeter, which was fixed in 30 seconds. Has very good power, cuts thick dense stock without problems. I'd say be careful with the anti-kickback system dewalt has going on here.

Like all the other tablesaws the employ this type of guard, you'll have to remove it only when doing kerf cuts. Although it did help me make a sliding miter jig pretty easily. Also, the person who said the lock to hold the blade at a certain angle felt like it was going to break off also seems to be wrong. I had no problems removing and replacing the guard. A little too strong for some woods and leave a slight scratch once you pass the board through.

My tablesaw has zero problems with this. Also, the person who said it had to be removed to do angled cuts is wrong, the guard tilts right with you, no problem. Excellent tablesaw. You can adjust the meter by just unscrewing two bolts and moving it to the right position.

I've never seen a miter guage do the job it needs to do on any tablesaw. It's part of the design.

works perfectly, and not tipsy at all. Being on top of the stablemate it puts it a little high but I'm tall so it works out just fine. I already had a makita tablesaw and stablemate100 set up so I took a chance that I'd be able to just buy another set of bases for the stablemate and set this thing on it rather than having to buy a stand or set it on the ground or screw it to a chunk of plywood on top of a couple saw horses. But I'm use to my dad's old ryobi that rattles and shakes all over the place. I had to take off the rubber feet and adjustable legs on back to run the bolts for the stablemate base but who needs em anyway. Glad I bought it. I bought this saw because I needed something small, I'm a weekend warrior at best but would love to get into woodworking more and figured for $299 + free shipping I couldn't go wrong. Got to say that this is the first time I've left a review.

This saw works perfect, not too loud like some say. 4 stars just for not being able to go to 24" width.no biggie The rack & pinion fence with solid lock works fantastically. Guess what.
