Fiskars PowerGear 31-1/2-Inch Bypass Lopper #9154 Reviews
Guys these would even make a nice Christmas gift for your wife. I even bought the small size, and the large size for my 80 year old Mom whom insists on still cutting yard limbs, etc. I own another pair of these this size, I am not able to use them because I lost them in my neighbors pond. Have had them for 5 years. If you are looking for a great set of loppers that WILL do the job, and actually make it fun these are the ones to get. (which I am proud of her).
LOL. I also have a small hand pair. These things are "GREAT", and the price was awsome. Sooooooooo I had to order another pair. Just don't tell her I said that.
Still perform like new.
Because of the length and the power gear, you have to spread your arms wide in order to make this 2" cut, which can be troublesome in many cases, if you ever come across a power gear2 design, i'd suggested you buy it instead, a 27 inch power gear2 also cuts 2" while your arms don't have to do spread eagle all afternoon, this one serves the purpose, but tiresome after 15 minutes.
I've had these for a month or so. You'd have to be pretty pathetic physical shape not to be able to cut Small stuff (2" and less) is a breeze. Lopped off some big (3") limbs with ease.
Thanks. We love these loppers. This was actually a replacement for a lost pair. Great product and wonderful customer service. We couldn't live without them.
This means pruning a branch that is in close proximity to other branches (the usual case) just isn't going to happen. In my experience however, this simply is not a tool for serious pruning.
For example, to cut a 2-inch branch the handles need to be opened literally 180 degrees apart, i.e. This means you have to open the handles much, much wider than other loppers.
The PowerGear feature is this product's achilles heel, which can make cutting larger branches (say 1-inch or more) very difficult or impossible. PowerGear works by using a reduction gear near the blade.
At this point I will have to buy a traditional loopper to maintain the trees in my yard. I will say the price is good and the blade seems very sharp and durable.
all the way open.
