The first USB turntable that lets you convert your old vinyl collection directly to CD or MP3, the Ion Audio iTTUSB is a must for people who don't want to deal with clumsy adapters or mismatched software when transferring formats. Requiring no special drivers, the turntable comes with Audacity, a recording application that works with both PCs and Macs, as well a trial version of Bias Soundsoap 2 to clean and restore vinyl recordings. As an alternative, the turntable also works with any other software that supports USB audio input sound cards. Once connected, the turntable transfers both 33-1/3 rpm albums and 45 rpm singles to digital formats in mere minutes. The iTTUSB also offers a few hardware extras, such as an adjustable anti-skating control for increased stereo balancing, an adjustable pitch control (+/- 8 percent), and support for high-speed vinyl recording. And thanks to the line-level outputs, you can connect to any home stereo with CD or auxiliary (AUX) inputs--no phono inputs required. The turntable comes with a cartridge and stylus, 45 adapter, and USB cable and is compatible with PCs running Windows 98, 2000, or XP and Macs running OS 9 or greater. All computers must also have at least one available USB 1.1 port. The iTTUSB's master carton measures 20.27 by 6.85 by 17.16 inches (W x H x D) while the turntable itself weighs 7.7 pounds. What's in the Box Turntable, tonearm counterweight, platter with belt, slipmat, cartridge premounted on headshell, RCA cable, USB cable, software CD-ROM, 45 adapter, quick-start guide, user's manual.

Ion TTUSB Turntable with USB Record Reviews
Instructions (supported by internet) are straight-forward and complete. Purchase and delivery arrangements were prompt and efficient. So far, all that I expected for the best price around. Had been watching for an opportunity to pick up this specific model and gave it to myself for Christmas, so haven't had much chance to thoroughly check it out. I don't think the CD-copy is quite as clear as my factory CDs, but I'll know better when I set up to play the original 33-1/3 through a comparable speaker system. Was successful with my first (and only) test, which was with the advanced software and iTunes download.
But I have better things do do with my life than spend the remaining time getting aggrivated. I wonder why. It took me three hours to record 4 songs. Problem is finding what you recorded and a place to store it. I also hear ION doesn't take to returns. Live and learn. I gave this a one star rating because I wasn't allowed to give it a zero-or lower. The first person on Amazon reviewing the Ion TTUSB Turntable said "he died and went to heaven." "I lived and went to hell." It takes someone with a computer background to figure out the complicated recording system.
It is easy to record. It is a surprise that a class company like Amazon.com would even see a productas bad as this. At this rate, I'll have to live until to 180 years old.
Great product. Friendly use. I purchased it as a birthday present to my father and he absolutely loved it.
First of all you have to assemble much of it yourself. You have to attach the belt, the arm, the cartridge, and plate. The product also comes with Audacity, which is much better software but is already freeware and is difficult to use for lay people. In summary: poor sound, low quality software, bad design, and cheap construction are what you get with the TTUSB. Very cheap. Not a good design choice. Try something else.
Once assembled the first thing one notices is that it's made almost entirely out of plastic. Recording audio from the turntable is even worse. The EZVinylConverter software that comes with this product is very poor. It has some major latency issues.
When attached via USB the the turntable makes an annoying hum that can be heard in the finished recordings. One of the other reviewers also mentioned that the cord is hardwired into the turntable, making it impossible to get a longer one if need be. It doesn't take an audiophile to realize that this turntable is terrible. The instructions for assembly were not too clear at some points.
This feature is useless unless you plan on using the turntable to DJ which I would not advise. Not to mention that it is barely configurable and relies on iTunes to do much of it's work. It also has two giant on/off switches on each side that mimic the design of a DJ turntable.
After looking for years for a device to convert vinyl to computer files, it was great to see that someone finally came up with a turntable that would USB directly into the computer. Works great. Fantastic invention.
