JET 710115K JWBS-14DX Deluxe 14-Inch 1-1/4 Horsepower Woodworking Bandsaw with Micro Adjustable Blade Guides, 115/230-Volt 1 Phase
Includes 14" Deluxe Closed Stand Band Saw - 710115K
There are some woodworking projects that only a good band saw can handle properly. The Jet 710115K, with it?s powerful 1-1/4 horsepower motor and Micro Adjustable blade Guides, is one of those saws that makes short work of the hardest of woods up to 6 inches thick. The first thing you will notice is the quality of the heavy cast iron and steel construction of this saw and the 15- by 15-inch table provides a large working base. When it?s time to change blades the Quick Release Blade Tension Handle takes less time to use than changing a circular saw blade. You will also enjoy the quiet operation of the Poly V-Belt Drive and the Nine Spoke cast wheel, which keeps the blade turning so smoothly there is no noticeable vibration and very little heat build-up. Resaws hardwoods such as oak or cherry in less time than it takes to read the rave reviews about this tool. -- C. Dwight Barnett
Jet took a really nice band saw and, with a few improvements, made it fantastic. First off, it's got 25 percent more power than before, at 1-1/4 horsepower, and that alone makes a big difference, especially when resawing oak - it practically cuts itself without any bogging or hesitating. The motor's totally enclosed and fan-cooled for a trouble-free, long life.

This saw is very quiet and very accurate, dust collection is good if you use a quality collector - mine is a 1HP from Penn State. Good quality blades are a must; I use Olsen All Pro, using a less expensive blade will cause you to replace them more often.
The only problem was a broken catch on the top door and a dent in that door caused by the broken catch. A few minor adjustments for tensioning the balde and adjusting the guides and it was ready to make saw dust.
I have had a Delta for many years but when Delta quit supporting the saw with repair parts I bought the Jet. Set up was super easy but you better have help lifting the saw onto the stand -it is heavy.
If you need a saw this is the one to get. Attempted to use my shop vac -5HP- but it didn't perform well.
A call to Jet had both parts delivered by UPS in 2 days.
It does not have a tire brush, so it gets dirty undr the blade which leads to imbalance and vibration. Ths only thing I don't like is the placement of the table tilt control knob. Likewise the 1/4 blade went south in a hurry. You will need to install a homemade brush for a buck or two.
On the other hand, with a 3/4 blade 3tpi, it will resaw and cut the hardest wood like it is butter. In other words, you have to take the knob off to tune or vacuum the lower blade guide assembly. This saw puts a ton of dust into the air if you don't put a dust control hose on it. Replacing blade is simple and quick, the doors stay open while you work on the blade instead of swinging shut on you like some other bandsaws. I replaced with a 1/2 10 tpi Timber Wolf blade. It will do what it's advertised to do and then some.
It is a breeze to tune unless you put on the wide blade, and is pretty accurate right out of the box. It's worth the bucks. It still puts a lot of sawdust out on the table and floor, even with a 650 cfm vacuum on it, exclusively. With a 1/4 blade it ran smoothly. But, I'm still tuning for that blade and am not ready to blame it on the saw. Don't scrimp on the blades. It is right in the way of the lower guides.
Table locks down solid and true. I recommend the saw. The saw i replaced had a different type of dust port and seemed to handle the sawdust better. Here's what I've determined: It vibrates with a 3/4 blade on it. Update. Smooth as silk.
Amazon delivery was fantastic and on time. Accurate tilt on the table. I've had this saw in service for about three months - home woodworking shop @ 4 or 5 evenings a week. Lot of torque and power. It's under the table, one on each side of the table. I found that the Jet Premium blades that I was running dulled quickly and caused the problems with the 3/4 blade vibration.
It's quiet.
No vibration. Great band saw. A lot of power comes out of the 1-1/4 HP motor. A very solid piece of equipment. I needed help attaching the upper portion of the saw - HEAVY.
Blade tension gauge is useful and readable. Saw runs smooth and performs as advertised. Some difficulty with alignment of drive pulley/motor adjustment. Micro adjustable guides work well and fence is a plus. Blade supplied was of low quality as expected. Blade tension release is very nice and helps with blade change time.
Set-up instructions are well written. I recommend not ever installing the blade provided to avoid temporarily having a bad impression of the saw. Received on time in perfect condition with all parts. Some cussing was required. Hinged doors are great.
Fence back-side adjustment is a little hairy to get just right, but worth the time to allow smooth side-to-side movement of the fence.
I would definitly recommend having another pair of hands or rather strong backs when lifting the band saw onto the base. I went to Woodcrafters and paid a little more but the machine was perfect. It is not packed as well as the other part of the machine and gets bent and damaged. Again Amazon took back the damaged unit and credited my account very promply but declined to try again. The second delivery was also damaged. I initially bought my saw through Amazon.
The first time there was delivery damage which Amazon responded to very quickly. I love the machine but not the delivery problems although Amazon did stand behind it product without any hassles. I bought it with all the add on's and was able to assemble the machine and install the add on's by my self but it was touch and go. Both times the base was damaged.
