Milescraft 1097 Rotary Tool Drill Press Stand Reviews
P.C. If you want a quality miniature high-speed drill, this is not for you, but prepare to shell out $250 or more for one. board drilling requires tiny drill bits, which must be run at very high speeds. Any movement at all while drilling will cause the drill bit to snap. were also supplied.
If you want something that's just enough to do the job, this should be suitable. The stand does have mounting holes and slots, which I consider a plus. My overall opinion of this stand is that it's barely suited to do the job. My Dremel tool fit nicely into the mount, no problem.
Mounting grommets (for vibration). It's flimsy, but far better than the stand that Dremel makes, which I consider to be a total piece of junk. I bought this for the purpose of drilling printed circuit boards with my Dremel tool. The Dremel is perfect for this, except that it has to be stand-mounted.
The instructions were not too good, but assembly is very easy. The drill center column was covered in a fine coat of rust straight out of the box.
The tightening screw on the press I ordered has no threads to thread into the carrier rendering the press completely and utterly useless. Be wary and buy at the store so you can check it out first. The carrier just rests at the base and has no support.
The adapter fits great and the stand is very precise for the price. This is a great stand, I had heard mixed reviews of Dremel's own stand so I decided to go with this one instead. I'm glad I did. However, if you email, or phone Dremel they will send you an adapter, free of charge. I own the XPR and as this stand comes the XPR will not fit.
This Drill Press has been a great addition to my shop. It was very simple to set up, takes up very little space on the workbench and allows a tighter degree of detail-work from the Dremel. If I had a huge amount of money and unlimited space in my shop, I would overlook this tool in favor of an "industrial strength" drillpress, but for my needs as a general "hobbyist", with a humble budget and limited space, this tool is a GREAT addition to my shop and I am very happy that I bought it. Some reviewers criticize this tool because it does not measure up to a "real" drill press, which I think is entirely true.and entirely irrelevant.
