The Li-Ion cells even have a novel LED battery "gauge" built in on the sides. The "new" 3.0 Amp-hour Li-Ion packs even store more energy than the prior NiCd's 2.4 Ah capacity. Milwaukee continues to think ahead & make great products. Uncertain. STRONGLY RECOMMENDED REPLACEMENT to any 18V NiCD battery. most are, but there are a few exceptions. The "new" charger is universally compatible with NiCd and Li-Ion 18V cells. JUST IN TIME: Needing to replace the 18V batteries of my Milwaukee tools for the 2nd time, I realized that my "old 18V NiCd" could be replaced by 18 V Li-Ion pack that was backward compatible with my 18V NiCd tools. Although significantly lighter than NiCds, they are a bit larger than the old NiCd batteries.
CHECK WITH MILWAUKEE FIRST to ensure your tool is compatible. GREAT FUNCTIONALITY: Even working out in a COLD garage, these new cells don't fade as the temperature falls.
The Charger will also charge Ni-Cad batterues and was able to revive two of my Ni-Cads that would not charge on my original 18v charger These Batteries take a charge faster and hold it much longer than my Ni-Cads.
Just bought a tool bag and stuff everything in there. Battery charge scale on back isn't funky, just press the dang button you idiots. Everything works as promised. Battery works forwards and backwards. Only bad thing and it's minor. Best price I saw on the internet. 18v batteries won't fit in the old hard case but this is no fault of the seller, it's Milwaukees.

Great battery. It makes my Milwaukee tools seem better than when I bought them new. A little pricey, yes, but now that I have them, I think it was worth it. MUCH better performance than from my Ni-cad batteries.
