Proficient Motorcycling: The Ultimate Guide to Riding Well Reviews
I believe this book should be a "must read" book for any new motorcycle road rider and long time riders can also learn a lot or re-confirm their riding habits. I feel safer after reading this book by practicing and applying these methods to my riding style. You will react to a sudden event the way you have practiced.and this book tells you what you need to know and how to help keep yourself safe. By knowing what to look out for, how to react to, and the best position for you and your bike in different environments will help avoid any sudden dangers.
I feel every rider new or experienced should attend some riding course every year or two and this book is an sbsolute must reading for a new rider. At 61 I attended a basic riding course and an advance course. I have read several books on the subject and this is by far the best, so far, I am not done yet. This is an absolutely excellent book. I am 63 years old and after many years of not riding a motorcycle I decided to start back. If things go well I plan to attend an instructors course this year. I have on road practiced almost every example used in this book.
I'm fairly certain he covered it all. In my opinion, this book along with a Motorcycle Safety Course will be two of the wisest and most affordable decisions one could make if you're going to ride.
He uses real world pictures to illustrate his points. He explains everything so that it is easily understood.
This book was a great read. I encourage anyone who loves riding motorcycles especially if you're new to consider buying it.
Everytime I hop on my VTX-1300 I think about information I took from his advice and wisdom.
He also brings to your attention situations that I wouldn't have thought of if I had to write a book about riding motorcycles.
This is my second copy, after giving away the first. IT'S THAT GOOD. Far and away the best book on improving your motorcycle riding skills. The best $25 you will ever spend on your bike. The Second Edition has some updated statistics and other information that make it even more worthwhile. I try to reread this book every year.
The author obviously has a tremendous amount of riding experience. Novice and seasoned riders alike can learn something from this book. This book does an excellent job of passing some of that along to the reader.
