I don't find it necessary to wear ear protection, unlike with gas powered equipment. I don't use it as a mulcher often, but it handles that task well for small to medium size areas. It has two speeds and I often find myself using the slower speed since the higher often is simply too much air that's a good recommendation for any leaf blower. I researched leaf blowers heavily and there wasn't a single blower out there, either gas or electric, that had more output than this Toro. Great product. It handles deep leaves with ease and also is quite good with wet leaves. I have a very heavily landscaped yard of 2 acres.
I use a TroyBuilt chipper/shredder/vac for most leaf clean-up, but this Toro leaf blower is a great additional asset. It does everything claimed and more. The unit is shipped with everything you need for leaf/debris blowing and for mulching/vacuming no accessories to buy. It is relatively quiet and the noise it makes is not unpleasant.
this blower is great. and it grinds up the leaves. i really like the two speed. works really good. I bought this blower last week and have used it twice and love it.
it has great power. you wont be disappointed. The Vac works really good to.
It's worth the price and I really recommend it. This is a wonderful blower, strong and light at the same time.
I decided to buy the newer version. Be warned.you will have problems if you buy this unit and it needs repair. I went to Toro's website and local Ace Hardwares store that are supposed to service it are all saying we can't. I've had fits trying to get it repaired. The motor began to slow and surge.then began to smoke and spark.
I've only used it 3 times only to do some light blowing of leaves and grass. I had a previous version of this blower for 5 years. Worked great until the impeller broke while mulching. I will try another brand next time. Since I bought it from Amazon I just can't march back into the store and demand my money back.
Obviously Toro has a quality control problem with these units.
SUCTION ATTACHMENT WORKS WELL ON PICKING UP AND CRUSHING THE LEAVES. LOUD.AGAIN, GO FIGURE. GOT THIS FOR MY MOTHER-IN-LAW FOR XMAS B/C SHE COMPLAINS HOW MUCH SWEEPING SHE HAS TO DO DURING THE FALL MONTHS. IF THE BLOWER ATTACHMENT COULD REVERSE TO SUCTION, WOULD MAKE GREAT FOR GETTING INTO THOSE NOOKS AND CRANNIES IN THE YARD. ATTACHMENTS ARE EASY TO CHANGE. A LITTLE BULKY.BUT GO FIGURE.
